The Oregon Solutions project manager provides staff support to the community convener and implements the Community Governance System. Project Managers oversee the development and evolution of projects on the ground and produce a Declaration of Cooperation for each project.
Steve Greenwood has a long history working in environmental and public policy. Over the past five years with Oregon Solutions, he has worked with the City of Eugene, Lower Columbia Solutions Group, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, and University of Oregon. Previously, the Western Regional Administrator for Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Steve negotiated a state agreement with EPA and the federal fisheries agencies to coordinate Endangered Species Act requirements with the Clean Water Act. He is the former Board President of the Oregon Environmental Council.
Therese Hampton is principal of H&H Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in facilitation of complex public policy issues. Therese has provided facilitation services to public, private and not for profit organizations. She has worked for Oregon Solutions on wave energy and other renewable energy projects. In addition, she serves as the facilitator for the Reedsport Wave Energy Project settlement process. Prior to consulting, Therese spent 13 years in the utility industry, negotiating and facilitating complex policy issues. Therese served as Vice President of Environment, Fish and Wildlife at Bonneville Power Administration and as Managing Director for Hydro Regulatory Compliance at PacifiCorp.
Wendy is focusing on Social Sustainability projects for Oregon Solutions. She has been the Executive Director for the City Club of Portland over the past four years where she has led fundraising efforts, promoted civic engagement and served as the primary spokesperson for the organization. City Club of Portland is a nonprofit, nonpartisan education and research based civic organization dedicated to community service, public affairs, and leadership development. Wendy grew up in Springfield, Oregon and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Willamette University and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
Kim Travis started working at the National Policy Consensus Center in 2002 with the Lower Columbia Solutions Group. Over the last five years, Kim has gained experience in many collaborative governance projects and serves as the hub of the Oregon Solutions Network of public, private and civic partners. Kim has a Masters of Public Administration from Portland State University.
Susan Brody works in the areas of transportation, community development, and natural resources. Susan was Executive Director of Oregon's Dispute Resolution Commission, 1999 to 2002. Prior to that she held a number of positions in state and local government, including Director of the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development and Planning Director for the City of Eugene. She was appointed in 1992 to the Oregon Transportation Commission and served eight years.
Pete has been active in the development and management of Oregon Solutions since 2003. He started with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality in 1988, serving in various management positions. Since 1994, his efforts have focused on developing and implementing multi-agency collaborative solutions for local public health and environmental issues. During this time his work included Environmental Partnerships for Oregon Communities projects across the State, serving as a Natural Resource Advisor in Governor John Kitzhaber’s Community Solutions Office and participating with numerous panels and workshops dealing with local government environmental issues. Pete has received the Federal government “Hammer” award for innovation, the Oregon Governor’s “Investing in People” award, and was selected by the Oregon Association of Water Utilities as a “Friend of Rural Water” for his work with small communities.
Mikell O’Mealy serves as liaison to Oregon's Economic Revitalization Team for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, working with local communities to solve public health and environmental issues. She also serves as the agency's liaison to American Indian Tribes in Oregon and works to strengthen state-tribal relations. Prior to her current position, she worked on Superfund sites in the Lower Willamette River, and worked as a policy specialist for the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board. Mikell also spent two years in Governor John Kitzhaber’s Natural Resources Office in the late 1990s to help launch the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds. Mikell currently serves as a member of the Oregon Sea Grant Advisory Council and volunteers as a naturalist for The Nature Conservancy.
Cylvia Hayes has 14 years of professional experience in sustainability issues including waste prevention and recycling, renewable energy, green building and sustainable economics. Cylvia is an advisor to the Oregon Sustainability Board and is a member of the Redmond Economic Development Board. She is a graduate of the League of Conservation Voters Environmental Leadership Institute. Cylvia ran for the Oregon Legislature in 2002, using the campaign to greatly elevate the visibility and credibility of sustainable development. She holds a Masters in Environmental Studies degree, with a major in Sustainability and Biodiversity Preservation.
Cylvia is the Executive Director of 3E Stategies in Bend, Oregon.
Joshua Proudfoot is a principal of Good Company, a sustainability research and consulting firm. Joshua serves government and corporate clients with a focus on management systems and marketing strategies.
