The Sherman County School District and other partners are planning to build a new, separate 7,000+ square foot building for the County Library to serve the 1800 residents in the community. The library will hold new book and media collections, computers, various programs, and meeting space. The library is an important element to the community to provide a place where people can come together to learn, exchange information, receive resources and training, and build relationships. A new library could also spur economic development in the area. A collaborative approach with public, private and civic partners will help the community to gain funding and other resources needed for the new library while leveraging the state of Oregon Housing and Community Services Community Incentive Fund.
