This project has convened private, public, and non-profit stakeholders to develop learning programs and outreach strategies that will connect low-income residents of North Portland to the opportunities of the Information Age. In 1998 Intel contributed tens of thousands of dollars in equipment and software to establish a technology center at the University Park Community Center. In 2003, Intel contributed again to upgrade the facility.
Oregon Solutions brought together a team of participants to increase the surrounding residents’ productive use of the technology center to enhance academic performance and career development, to access online resources for family management, and to increase community interaction and vitality.
