Hello! Oregon Solutions offers a new governing model for community projects. The Community Governance System allows public, private, non-profit and citizens to integrate their resources to solve local problems and seize opportunities. Since we started in 2001, we have completed 22 projects throughout Oregon.

As we continue with more community-based projects, we want to share success stories, keep you up-to-date on future projects and engage the Oregon Solutions Network in identifying collaborative opportunities throughout Oregon. Learn more about how we integrate collaboration with community sustainability:

We invite you to stay connected to Oregon Solutions. Be sure to check out our new website at http://www.orsolutions.org for more information about our projects. Our intent is to send the OS Network eNews on a quarterly basis — please feel free to contact us with your thoughts and ideas.

Governor Ted Kulongoski appointed a convener that brought together representatives from over forty government, business, non-profit and citizen organizations as an Oregon Solutions team to coordinate transportation services in the greater Jefferson County, and Warm Springs communities.

One result of the project is a shuttle service that will operate between Madras and Warm Springs, with a seasonal extension to Kahneeta. A “coordination center” will serve as the hub of implementation and future activity related to the vision of an integrated transportation system. Sustainable Plant Research and Outreach Center (SPROUT)

The Oregon Garden Foundation, with help from a grant from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), worked with an Oregon Solutions Team to establish a Sustainable Plant Research and Outreach Center (SPROUT).

The core mission of SPROUT is to develop the use of plants and plant material for environmental sustainability purposes, through the development of new techniques, new plants, and new propagation methods. OS Team members include the Oregon Garden Foundation, The Institute for Natural Resources, Oregon State University, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA), OWEB, and a number of other public and private institutions.
