Greetings OS Network:
Two projects have recently been completed with signed Declarations of Cooperation: Oregon Sustainable Agriculture Resource Center and the Lakeview Biomass Project. We often talk about the value of leverage with Oregon Solutions projects but in this update we would like to focus on "governance" and the importance of creating self-governing teams of diverse organizations empowered to make decisions and solve problems.
Oregon Solutions is a catalyst that connects public, private and civic organizations in taking integrated action. These self governing teams leverage their resources to create solutions that no one organization or agency could develop on its own.
We welcome your questions and thoughts about the Oregon Solutions Community Governance System.
Thanks, Greg Wolf, Director Oregon Solutions
Changing consumer demand is creating both new market opportunities for agricultural producers and evolving requirements for access to major markets.
The Oregon Sustainable Agriculture Resource Center is established to draw together the education, information, and technical support needed by Oregon farmers and ranchers who wish to capture the opportunities and meet the requirements.
"I'm pleased Oregon Solutions was able to bring such a diverse group together to make OSARC happen." -Katy Coba, Director Oregon Department of Agriculture
"Oregon Solutions is what good governance is all about." -Secretary of State Bill Bradbury
The Oregon Solutions Team of 27 businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations signed the Declaration of Cooperation on February 16, 2006 to make The Center a reality. The Declaration of Cooperation outlines the participation of OS Team members as members of the Administrative Council or Technical Working Groups to guide the work of OSARC.
