Oregon Solutions projects bring together public, private, nonprofit and citizen partners. We want to acknowledge leaders that have been playing a key role in making Community Governance a reality. We are highlighting the work of a great private sector partner -- NORPAC and its leadership by Rick Jacobson.
Governor Kulongoski held a reception on July 28th to thank Rick for his leadership with the Oregon Sustainable Agriculture Resource Center (OSARC) and to wish him well upon his retirement. Rick has worked tirelessly to promote OSARC by collaborating with agencies and nonprofits for the benefit of Oregon farmers. Below are highlights from the Governor's Oregon Solutions celebration.

 Governor Kulongoski's remarks at the Oregon Solutions reception to celebrate the leadership of Rick Jacobson
"We're here today to celebrate our success in pulling OSARC together, and to chart our expectations for its future success. You and I know that we must all work together to make a difference for sustainability in agriculture. In this regard, I want to say how much I appreciate NORPAC's leadership for helping make this vision a reality. I want everyone to know how much I have appreciated Rick's leadership in visualizing and creating the stewardship process to make Oregon agriculture sustainable. You have delivered strong, broad support to OSARC, and you--along with all the other OSARC participants--have set it on a promising course."

"Had you not endorsed under your Oregon solutions Program, our effort to establish a resource for farmers to look to as they respond to the market for certification, we would not have had the forum in which to establish the Oregon Sustainable Agricultural Resource Center."
