Port Orford is a small port on the Southern Oregon Coast and is faced with severe shoaling that effects the social and economic health of the community. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, the shoaling at the Port of Port Orford was so severe the port lost 35% to 50% of fishing opportunity because the water was too shallow for fishing vessels to get off the dock.
Local partners are working together on a new facility, located on or near the campus of Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in the south-coast fishing village of Charleston, that will house administrative and research offices.
The goal of this project is to set the stage for a coordinated, well integrated licensing process between our public, private and non-profit partners and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
The North Bend Airport Terminal project team reached agreement on a plan of action for constructing a new airport terminal facility at the North Bend Municipal Airport. The overall goal is to complete construction of the new terminal facility by the summer of 2006 in time for the Curtis Cup international women's golf tournament.
