Overview: Springfield Downtown Revitalization

The City of Springfield, civic leaders, community organizations, regional service districts, and the Governor's Community Solutions Team worked cooperatively to catalyze the redevelopment of downtown Springfield. The vision they hold is of a vibrant, "branded" downtown.

There are more than a dozen projects underway, including restoration of the millrace, renovation of two historic buildings, and development of a transit center. The City partnered with Oregon Solutions to move forward with three initiatives: a St. Vincent de Paul mixed-use housing project, a writers' retreat, and a farmers market.
