Institutional buyers in Lane County are not able to easily source locally grown products due to a number of barriers including: quantity, seasonality, processing, delivery, food safety, cost, making the right connections, convenience, and insurance. This Oregon Solutions project will address barriers in the aggregation, processing, storage, and
> distribution infrastructure.
The Willamette Falls Locks, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, connect the upper and lower sections of the Willamette River, providing the only safe passage for boats around the 40-foot high Willamette Falls.
This Benton County project is a cooperative, voluntary approach to landscape-scale restoration and management that works across the ownership boundaries of many participating landowners.
This project will create an opportunity for Oregon growers to voluntarily make changes in their practices for greater stewardship and will improve the health of the Willamette River.
